Relieved or not, AMBience VI is finally over.

Thank you everyone for helping, must admit i yelled quite a bit. Hehs.
But overall, everyone really coordinated well, adjusting to changes here and there.
Proves something about this alumni, at least to me =)

If not.. i really must say a big thank you to our very own performers, non-performing helpers, main band, junior band, conductors, teachers-in-charge, gary's cousin, luheng the videographer, audience and everybody else whom i've missed out.


Wait for the videos!!!! Have a good rest! =)

Gosh, its after twelve... So its one more day to concert.

Have this msg to the exco:
I know it's been hard for us these few days. Having mutual updating sessions, last minute changes, meetings, coordinating and confirmation.
It's really not easy i know.
But seeing how everyone is concerned about this concert, and wanting to make it the best.. I'm sure its all worthwhile.

So most impt thing now, is.. DONT GAN CHIONG.
As of last Friday, everything that can be desseminated down, job allocation and anything that can be done/thought of has been done/thought of.
Let's just do it to our best.

Really appreciate everyone's help.

For performers not in exco, the least you can help too is to turn up asap on friday, bringing all your tix studs, money and $4 for the video thingy.

Let's all look forward to this concert which i believe its going to be a good one..

4 days to AMBience VI

Hi all, may not seem much to everybody but but but its 4 days to concert. Let's all look forward to it!!

And to all the leaders/exco members who have been stressed every single day of this week since last week, rushing out namelists, program booklets, ticket collecting, setting timings, doing last minute preparation work...esp amanda and sikai! who have been squeezed badly by me..

Here to say a big thank you to u all! =)
Really quite happy to see everybody working together, with the main band as well! Feels like a big family. Ha..

In any case, on concert day, there will be a videographer and photographers around. So for the hire of these services, we regret to say that we need to collect another $4 for this.

Its amb and our first time at VCH, hope to have this memory recorded down as well.

Hi all,

Saturday is officially the last practice before the concert. Details:
Date: 22nd Mar 08 SAT
Time: 9-5pm

PLS PLS come for this last practice. Let's just put in our effort for this last stretch. After all, we've worked so hard for months already. For the sake of everybody, just come on time, take the prac seriously and go for it! Practice will be in the hall, full run of all the pieces.

So pls, let's all just do our bit for this concert, a milestone in amb's history for all of us to share.
Good or bad memories. It's all up to us.

Thanks for coming down for the prac, heard some cool stuff from u all! But pls again, keep your tuning in check.

Okay, next prac will be on coming sat, 2 days from now. Timing will be 9am. I wont be around as i'll be on duty in camp =(

So... just wanna say, last few pracs alr. Lets just give this our best shot. Yups.

Hi all, as of yesterday, we have discussed the following issues:

1. Monday 100308

• There will be a music exchange with several primary schools, hosted by our main band. There is a request here for those who can make it to help out. Meeting time will be at 1300hrs, in Anderson Sec.

2. Alumni Band practice 130308

• The main band will be having their band camp in preparation for the concert. The camp is on the 13th Mar, Thursday and ends on the 14th Mar, Friday. 2D/1N.
• There will be a combined practice for the alumni on the night of 13th Mar, at 7pm. Please try your very best to turn up as this will be one of the rare chances that we'll get to practise with the main band for our piece 'Tomorrow'.
• A sms will be sent reminding u on tue or wed again. Please do not be late.

3. QM Matters

• Any accessories that u all need, pls contact Craig. So that we can make an inventory of items to bring. For e.g. reeds and TUNERS! if u intend to tune using your ears. lol

4. Ticketing Matters

• As polled, please ensure you sell the number of tickets that you have given us. This to ensure the number of tickets that the alumni is confident is selling. I know its hard so we'll just have to try harder =)

Please listen to the recording of Jap Graf 9 by yuhua alumni below. I took some time to do this so pls pls the least everybody can do is to look through at least once:

There are both good and bad points in this recording. Learn from others' mistakes/good points and do our best in improving.

One main prob of the band now: Tuning.

Once u know u are out of tune or your friend is VERY out of tune, pls at least bother to tell them or solve the problem. Dont say you don't know whether you are flat or sharp. If you really duno, just try both and see which one is correct la! haha...

Because there will surely be some parts that are more prone to intonation probs, solve them NOW when u still can. And if people tell you you're of tune or whatever, just take it positively. After all, everyone wants the best for the performance. IF it is the instrument's prob, tell us! tell the QM! tell the exco! So that whatever can be done, CAN be done. Dont wait anymore, its the last 2+ weeks already!!!

But in any case, thanks everybody for the hard work. =)

As everybody would have heard, we sounded much better after changing the seating arrangement yesterday. =) Hopefully, everything will work out.
In any case, continue to push for the tickets!! Please please take some responsibility over own concert.
