1st Collection of Concert DVD

Hi all,

The concert DVDs are in process of replication, and the first collection date is this Saturday, 4th July 11am at Dhoby Ghaut Station. Please meet Wenjie at the station (Purple NEL Line).

Do note that there are only 3 collection dates, and latecomers will not be entertained. (Latest 11.15am)

Please inform me if you are meeting me this coming Saturday.

We will be having food and the broadcasting of the concert DVD, which includes the concert day footage and exclusive behind the scenes footage as well!

Good Evening All,

There will be a band practice to prepare for BANDERSONICS this coming Saturday 25/4 from 1-4pm! Do turn up cause we are running out of time and we have some new pieces to clear.

For those who need any scores because they can't make it for practice, do mail the logistics committee at andalumni.logistics@gmail.com to inform them to prepare the scores so that you can practise first even though you are unable to turn up for practice. My logistics personnel will pass it to you then.

IMPORTANT ADMIN POST 150409

Good Afternoon all,

Some very important updates here:

1. Cancellation of AMBience 7

AMBience 7 on the 29th May has been cancelled. This decision has been reached by the management and the conductors as the school is not allowing the sec 4s to play for the concert. Due to manpower shortage and succession problems, the main band will be unable to play for AMBience 7. The tentative plan is to hold official AMBience concert and 40th anniversary celebrations at the end of the year, if the band is not going overseas.

2. Full Alumni Concert

As the 29th May VCH slot has been booked and deposit has been paid, it will mean full forfeiture of $1800 (paid by the Alumni seniors not the school) if we do not use the slot. Therefore, the Alumni Band will make use of the slot and replace AMBience 7 with our first full Alumni concert. Mr. Lim has given the name to the concert 'bandersonics', which has the words 'band', 'anderson' and 'sonics' (meaning sound). It will be bandersonics'09 this year.

3. Repertoire

After discussions with Mr. Lim, the full repertoire has been selected. This is keeping in mind the fact that we only have May practices. Repertoire as follows:

• Pinocchio
• Bravo Brass
• Overture for Woodwinds
• Theatre Music
• Teresa Song's Medley
• Bridge over Troubled Waters (Jazz)
• Animation Song Medley
• Road to Gokusen
• 相棒 メインテーマ
• 篤姫 メインテーマ
• March 'Willing and Able'

4. Attendance/Practices

As the main bulk of the Alumni can only turn up in May, i urge all alumnus to return whenever they can and work together in making this concert a success. Mr. Leow has been working with the school and assisting in helping us get the practice dates.

• In April, practices will remain as 1-4pm.
• In May, practices are tentatively confirmed to be from 9am to 3pm.

There are only 4 practices tentatively and only one first Alumni concert, so we hope alumnus can really give us the month of May and work this last stretch together.

Please do not think that there's someone else who can help/play, but be proactive and do your part. I sincerely seek your cooperation.

Good Afternoon All,

This is an update on SYF 2009.

Our Main Band, AMB has achieved very good results at the SYF 2009, achieving a Gold Medal this morning at the Singapore Conference Hall.

The Anderson Alumni Band would wish to congratulate the Main Band on a good job done and that the months of efforts have finally paid off.
